The foothills of the majestic Salzkammergut Mountains surround the lovely village of St, Georgen, which is ideally situated for lovers of dramatic scenery, historic cities and picturesque lakeside villages. In St. Georgen many attractions are available to the visitor, including a superb summer sports and swimming complex with mini-golf and bowling alleys as well as sailing on nearby Lake Attersee.
Your Holiday Programme:
Saturday
You'll leave home early Saturday morning for your channel crossing to the continent, then after passing through France and Belgium, you'll check into your overnight hotel in Germany the same evening.
Sunday
After breakfast, you'll leave your hotel in Germany and travel through central Bavaria towards Austria where you’ll check into your hotel in St Georgen late afternoon.
Monday to Friday
Throughout your holiday you’ll be able to enjoy a variety of optional excursions such as guided visits to Salzburg, Mondsee and Konigssee via Berchtesgaden. You can tour the ever popular ‘Sound of Music’ lakes, visit the delightful lakeside resorts of Attersee, St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang, and explore the picture postcard resort of Hallstatt – said to be the prettiest village in Austria.
Many evening activities are available during your holiday, where you can dance to the sounds of local musicians, enjoy an hilarious bowling competition or participate in a traditional folklore Schuplattler show.
Saturday
After breakfast on Saturday you'll say farewell to St. Georgen and travel out of Austria into Bavaria, where you'll have time to explore the fairytale city of Rothenburg before checking into your overnight hotel near Frankfurt.
Sunday
After breakfast It's onward to home, where after crossing the channel you’ll arrive within your local area the same evening.
Hotel Gruner Baum
The ever popular hotel Gruner Baum is of a really superior standard, built in traditional Austrian style with overhanging wooden gables and a façade of flower-bedecked balconies. Its comfortable bedrooms are of a particularly high standard with full bathroom facilities en-suite.
